The eVisitor visa (subclass 651) is a free online visa that allows eligible passport holders to visit Australia temporarily for:
- Tourism (holiday)
- Visiting family or friends
- Business visitor purposes

Who can apply?
You may be eligible for an eVisitor visa if you:
- Intend to stay in Australia temporarily only
- Are outside Australia when applying
- Hold a passport from an eVisitor-eligible country
- Are free of active tuberculosis when you enter Australia
- Have not been convicted of offences where the total sentence is 12 months or more

- Outside Australia when you apply, and
- Outside Australia when the visa is granted

UK Passport Note (Important)
You are not eligible for the eVisitor if your only passport is:
- British National Overseas
- British Dependent Territories Citizen
- British Overseas Citizen
- British Protected Person
- British Subject
Criminal Convictions
If you have criminal convictions where the total sentence is 12 months or more (served or not served), you:
- Will not be permitted entry to Australia on an eVisitor visa
If you have any criminal history, DHA may consider that a Visitor visa (subclass 600) is more appropriate.
Health Requirements
You must meet Australia’s health requirements.
You may not be allowed to enter Australia if you have:
- Active tuberculosis
Health Insurance
You are responsible for all health costs during your stay.
You will not be covered by Medicare unless your country has a reciprocal health care agreement with Australia.
